What you will do as the Executive General Manager, Network Regulation
* Contribute to considering whole‐of-organisation operational matters, as a member of the AER Senior Leadership Team.
* Lead revenue and price control processes that promote the National Energy Objectives (NEO)/National Gas Objectives (NGO): revenue resets for electricity networks and access arrangements for regulated gas pipelines; annual pricing proposals, incentive schemes and pass throughs.
* Identify opportunities for reform in the regulatory framework and work with the AER's Regulatory Design team to advocate for greater flexibility in network regulation frameworks.
* Inform efforts to evolve regulatory regimes to support the energy transition underway, considering issues such as the appropriate depreciation profiles for gas networks and large electricity transmission infrastructure assets, and the way we deal with network resilience in relation to the impact of extreme weather events on the networks.
About You
* Ability to lead and manage a large and diverse team in a complex and dynamic regulatory environment, preferably within or related to the energy sector.
* Expert understanding of economic regulation and proven ability to act as a principal and authoritative source of advice.
* Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of, the energy sector; the role, purpose and objectives of the AER and the complex political and stakeholder environment within which the AER operates.
* Tertiary qualifications in law, economics, commerce, public policy or related fields.
Salary
Total remuneration package (including superannuation) from $374,065.
