Job Summary
Opportunities have arisen for Senior Radiographers, Band 6 to work within the Medical Imaging Department on the Ipswich Hospital Site within East Suffolk & North Essex Foundation Trust. You will be expected to rotate through all areas including the Emergency Department, CT scan, Fluoroscopy, all the plain film imaging modalities, and have opportunities to train within Vascular & Intervention and Cardiac modalities.
We operate extended day working across a 7‑day week and you will be expected to undertake overnight duties, including emergency CT scans, covering weekends and bank holidays on a rostered basis. You will also support the managers and area leads with delivery of an efficient and effective service within the current challenging healthcare environment.
Previous/current NHS experience is essential for this role.
Responsibilities
* Uphold trust values and behaviours, leading by example
* Undertake diagnostic imaging procedures according to agreed protocols
* Support senior staff, radiologists and area leads to ensure effective and efficient organisation of the workload across the service
* Develop and maintain good, effective channels of communication within the multi‑disciplinary team
* Supervise junior radiographic staff and support staff including undergraduates on clinical placement
* Adhere to Radiation Protection legislation/governance and report breaches using the DATIX incident reporting system, including notifying senior staff/RPS as appropriate
