About the Role
Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic, growing and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the delivery of exceptional, patient‐centred care within our community.
In this senior role, you will lead the provision of advanced clinical services in the areas of Aged Care and/or Disability, as well as the coordination and oversight of Occupational Therapy practice across General Medical inpatient units. You will draw on your expertise to support patients presenting with cognitive impairments such as dementia and delirium, alongside individuals living with disability, including those supported through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
This role will be supported with additional training, supervision and mentoring for those applicants who are developing their specialised skills in Aged Care and/or Disability.
Working collaboratively with Occupational Therapy colleagues and the broader multidisciplinary team, you will play a pivotal role in optimising patient functional outcomes and overall health status. Your ability to deliver evidence‐based, person‐centred care will be complemented by your clinical leadership within the acute hospital setting, ensuring high standards of practice and continuous improvement.
Opportunities to increase working hours may be available, subject to service needs, departmental requirements and applicant capacity.
To be eligible for this position, you must hold an appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
About You
To thrive in this role, you will bring advanced clinical expertise and a strong commitment to delivering best‐practice care. You will have extensive experience managing a diverse range of occupational therapy presentations, with particular strength in supporting patients with cognitive impairment and individuals accessing NDIS supports.
In addition, your well‐developed communication skills will enable you to engage effectively across all levels. You will be confident in consultation, negotiation, and conflict resolution, and capable of producing clear, accurate, and timely clinical documentation. Building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with patients, families, community services, and healthcare professionals will be central to your approach, particularly within culturally diverse and multidisciplinary environments.
Equally important is your demonstrated leadership capability. You will be skilled in supervising and mentoring staff, working both autonomously and as part of interdisciplinary teams, and managing competing priorities in a fast‐paced environment. Your adaptability, initiative, and commitment to service development will support ongoing program evaluation, innovation, and continuous quality improvement.
