Details: The Climate Change, Energy and Water Division is looking for enthusiastic and talented Program Officers (Administrative Services Officers - ASO5) to help deliver a range of innovative programs that empower the Canberra community to reduce emissions and be energy and water efficient. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team taking climate action and contribute to direct positive impacts for the local community.
Successful applicants will work in partnership with a range of internal and external stakeholders to develop, implement and evaluate climate change, energy and/or water programs. Duties could include project planning and delivery, development of briefs, reports and correspondence, event organisation and management, stakeholder liaison and negotiation, and high-quality administrative support such as procurement and contract management.
Currently, there are temporary positions available in the following teams in the Climate Change, Energy and Water Division:
Household Schemes team: This team delivers the Sustainable Household Scheme and Vulnerable Households Energy Support Scheme which provides Canberrans with access to low interest loans, rebates and property upgrades for vulnerable households to live more comfortably, reduce emissions and their energy costs.
Business and Economic Development team: This team delivers programs and events in business recycling, energy and water, and ensures Canberra is a nation leading hub for renewable energy innovation and investment including by achieving the 100% Renewable Electricity Target.
Eligibility/Other Requirements:
* A current ACT or equivalent driver's licence may be required.
* Some weekend and after-hours work may be required.

Notes: There are temporary positions available immediately until 30 June 2026 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency.
A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
