Safety Manager: Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to oversee health and safety compliance for construction projects at a remote base in Northern Australia.
The ideal candidate will ensure strict adherence to EM 385-1-1 and Australian WHS regulations, implementing and managing project safety plans and procedures. They will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of the public and project staff while meeting contract requirements.
Responsibilities:
* Implement and manage project safety plans and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1 and Australian WHS regulations.
* Develop and implement strategies to prevent accidents and injuries.
* Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards.
* Develop and maintain accident reports and other required records.
Requirements:
* Minimum of five years' experience in safety management on large construction projects.
* 2-yr or 4-yr degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
* Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
* Strong knowledge of Australian WHS Act 2011 and associated regulations.
* Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English.
