About the Role:
The site Water Management Specialist will play a pivotal role in overseeing all groundwater and surface water-related matters at the Meandu Mine. This includes fulfilling statutory compliance requirements, designing and implementing groundwater and surface water monitoring programmes, and minimising environmental risks associated with compliance limits.
This is a full-time permanent position with a 9 day fortnight roster, offering every second Friday off. You will work closely with site operations and the environment team to ensure best practices in water management and regulatory compliance.
About You:
You will require a tertiary qualification in Hydrogeology/Hydrology, Water Chemistry, Environmental Science or similar discipline, as well as 2+ years' experience undertaking groundwater and surface water monitoring programmes, ideally in a mining environment.
Your skills should include operation, basic maintenance and servicing of groundwater monitoring equipment, sound knowledge of water sampling methodologies and bore construction, and understanding of Queensland environmental legislation, standards and management systems.
