However, within this group, many are struggling to survive in the modern, often online market. Now more than ever, online retail is the place to be. Yet the skillsets needed to achieve a fully functioning online presence are lacking within these organisations.
Furthermore, these family-run businesses don't have the back-office sophistication of the larger players. How can they compete?

Leveraging over a decade of expertise in scaling retail-focused businesses and taking some of Australia's most loved brands digital, our client is on a mission: acquire excellent, small Australian retailers, and transform them into prosperous, growth-minded organisations that can compete with the big guys.
They are a scale-up organisation. Within just one year, they've gone from $0 to a $20M organisation.
Now they are opening a brand new 1400 sq m warehouse and showroom. Their specialisation is in-home products, ranging in value from $500 to $5,000. The showroom will be bright, modern and amazing to look at, and they are looking for a Sales Manager like you to start helping customers.
**Here's what you'll be doing day to day**:
- Providing input into the presentation of the showroom to ensure it is stunning
- Engaging with customers and building a genuine relationship to help them select products
- Achieving sales targets, with bonuses paid to you and the warehouse team
- Leveraging the CRM and associated systems to create long-term relationships with customers
- Growing the team over time
- Analysing and interpreting data to maximise sales opportunities and deliver value to customers
- Closely monitoring store sales to achieve daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly targets - acknowledging good results and identifying any areas of missed opportunity
You are the first team member on the ground, so from day one, this role will be hands-on. However, over time you will build a team.
