Overview 
The Facilities Shift Operator plays an integral role in ensuring safe, reliable and effective operation of the site. 
The Facilities Shift Operator is part of a team responsible for 24/7 oversight, monitoring, operation and control of all site infrastructure, utilities and equipment. 
The role manages critical power, generation, cooling and hydraulic systems; maintains accurate records; completes routine inspections and compiles data on site infrastructure, equipment and essential operating systems. 
The Facilities Shift Operator supports switching between different power, generation and utilities configurations and performing safe equipment isolations, while guaranteeing site reliability. 
This position may involve emergency response to avoid service interruptions and performing maintenance and repair activities on a wide variety of equipment and infrastructure. 
The role operates on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster (12-hour shifts) as part of one of four shift teams to provide 24/7 support. 
Responsibilities 
Monitor and control site infrastructure and equipment 
Conduct safe configuration changes and equipment isolation 
Technical assessment and technical documentation writing and review 
Routine equipment inspection, data collection and metric reporting 
Maintenance and repair of equipment and components 
Complete reports, incident and event data collection 
Investigate and review system anomalies 
Lead and contribute to development of technical processes and procedures 
Ensure compliance with all site environmental health and safety requirements 
Other reasonable duties as requested 
Qualifications 
Experience in relevant industry or trade assistance position or equivalent experience and skills 
Applicable trades may include: Electrical, Plumbing, Refrigeration, Mechanical, Communications/Cabling, Fire technician, Plant/ system control, Security or CCTV systems 
OR experience in related facilities operations or SCADA system operations 
Strong understanding of general equipment maintenance requirements (preventive, predictive, and corrective) 
Understanding of technical plans and drawings; ability to read and assess plans and/or technical documents 
Basic computer skills including Office 365 programs and Excel 
Must be a U.S. citizen and possess or be able to obtain TS SCI with poly or Australian citizen and possess or be able to obtain a TSPV 
Driver's License 
Desirable 
Strong understanding of infrastructure, facilities equipment and functionality within a large operational facility 
5 years post apprenticeship trade experience or experience as Facilities/infrastructure Operator 
HV switching certification/ experience 
Experience in Power Generation or Power Networks 
Experience working with HMI-based control systems/ SCADA or BMS systems 
HV switching certification 
First response/aid 
Confined space entry 
High risk 
Dogger/ rigger/ Crane license 
Experience 
Minimum of 2 years minimum post-trade experience as a qualified tradesperson 
Initial Employment Expectations 
New employees starting with operations are expected to complete the initial employment training modules within the employee qualifying period of 6 months. 
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands 
Facilities Shift Operators should be able to perform general trades-based tasks and physical work from light to moderately heavy 
The position will require extended periods sitting and monitoring equipment via HMI, reading and interpreting plans and completing technical documentation 
Extended periods of manual trade-based labor and time on feet working with tools and equipment 
Attention to detail and high concentration levels, with the ability to multi-task and make thorough decisions 
Security Clearance Requirement 
It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role. 
The employee will initially require Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) and be expected to obtain Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) or TS/SCI clearance as applicable. 
Statement of Work (SOW) Requirements 
All personnel assigned to work at JDFPG shall be at least 18 years of age 
Able to fluently read, write and speak English
