Research Grants Adviser, Research Office — Sydney (Broadway) or Fremantle campus. Full-time opportunity, continuing contract.
Responsibilities
* Provide accurate advice and guidance to researchers and University stakeholders on research funding queries, delivering high-quality customer service.
* Support researchers to identify funding opportunities and prepare competitive research funding applications.
* Review funding applications, including budgets, ensuring eligibility and compliance with internal and external requirements.
* Coordinate the approval and submission of research funding applications to external funding bodies on behalf of the University.
* Manage post-award administration including project variations, reporting, milestone tracking, and project closure.
* Maintain accurate records in the University's research management systems and contribute to training, process improvements, and compliance with University policies.
Qualifications, skills & experience
* Degree qualification with relevant experience in research administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience.
* Experience working in a university, research organisation, or research funding agency.
* Demonstrated experience in research administration, including grant applications, project budgets, governance, and compliance with policies and procedures.
* Knowledge of competitive and contract research funding schemes and systems, particularly major Australian funders such as the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF), and the Australian Research Council (ARC).
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage confidential matters and provide effective support to researchers and stakeholders.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple deadlines, work independently and collaboratively, and use grant management systems and Microsoft Office tools to support research administration.
