Key Winemaking Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced winemaker to join our team in a key driver position. The inaugural Winemaker will play a vital role in establishing high-quality and efficient operations, contributing to innovations and continuous improvement.
* Lead the wine production process, overseeing all aspects of winery operations and coordinating work programs to deliver premium wines to specification and schedule.
* Develop and lead a high-performing team, providing guidance and training to ensure optimal performance.
* Maintain regular communication with clients regarding processing specifications, harvest timing, logistics and progress updates.
* Ensure quality control processes are followed and standards are met, protecting the integrity of all wines produced.
* Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for winery equipment and production processes.
* Manage a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety regulations, environmental policies and standards.
* Ensure accurate and timely updates of bulk wine system and records, from grape receival to laboratory records and bottling.
* Manage winery operating costs and budgets effectively.
* Provide regular reports on client requirements, operations, progress updates and any issues.
* Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement to drive quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
* Assist with final stages of winery fit out and commissioning, and next stage of expansion plans, providing recommendations and support.
* Develop and oversee a preventative maintenance program.
