Commercial Franchising Lawyer
Addisons is seeking a full-time solicitor with 3–5 years post-qualification experience (PQE). This role is principally suited to a candidate with general commercial disputes experience and, ideally, one also experienced in commercial franchising. It is suited to a candidate looking for meaningful responsibility, challenging work, and direct client engagement.
In this unique role, you will work principally with a leading franchisor client with over 100 retail stores across Australia, supporting their ambitious nationwide growth strategy. You will provide commercially astute and pragmatic advice to the franchisor in respect of general commercial disputes and franchising matters.
You will also work closely with a partner who is a highly respected intellectual property advisor and litigator, with expertise spanning contentious IP matters, including intellectual property disputes, patents, trade marks, copyright, brand protection, trade secrets, and portfolio management.
If you are ready to take the next step in your career and embrace new challenges, this is the role for you.

* Advise on and manage various commercial disputes.

* Protect the interests of the client and take a lead role in the drafting and negotiation process for franchise agreements.
* Provide strategic, commercially-focused advice to support franchise growth initiatives and broader business objectives.
* Advise on compliance with Australian franchising regulations, including the Franchising Code of Conduct, and assist in managing regulatory risk.
* Work directly with senior client stakeholders, gaining exposure to high-level commercial decision-making and advising on franchise strategy.
* Manage franchisee relationships, providing ongoing support and ensuring alignment with client objectives.
* Support dispute resolution, including contentious franchise matters, and manage complex legal issues as they arise.
Qualifications
* Admission to practice in NSW.
* 3–5 years' post-admission experience in retail or franchise law.
* An excellent academic record.
* A strong understanding of Australian franchise regulations and commercial contract principles.
* Strong technical, drafting, and research skills.
* The ability to meet strict deadlines while managing multiple priorities effectively.
* Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
* A client-focused approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
