The Royal Freemasons' Benevolent Institution (RFBI) is a non-for-profit organisation that has been in operation for 145 years. We currently operate 22 residential aged care villages, 20 retirement villages and a range of home and community services across NSW and ACT.
Position Information:
We are seeking a Roving Registered Nurse to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work across multiple RFBI villages, providing high-quality care while expanding your experience. The role is initially for 24 months and reports to the Care Managers at both your home village and assigned villages as required.
Home Village
Based in the Hunter Region, you will start your journey at one of our Villages in the Hunter Region (Hawkins, Kurri Kurri, Lake Haven, Benhome or Cessnock, depending on your location) for up to 6 months whilst you learn about RFBI, our processes and culture
Travel
After training you will work on assignment across any of our 22 RFBI villages across NSW and ACT providing RN support. These trips will typically range from 1 day to 2 weeks depending on the need
A generous travel allowance is provided plus accommodation and /or flights if applicable, will be provided
Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Delivering high-quality clinical care to residents across multiple RFBI villages.
* Supervising and assisting other care employees
* Building strong relationships with residents, ensuring their dignity, and focusing on their health and wellbeing.
* Working within a supporting team to coordinate and deliver care.
* Providing complex clinical care including but not limited to: wound dressing; administration of medications; condition assessments and referrals.
* Entering reports and observations on the computer program – iCare.
* Evaluating and maintaining care plans to meet the needs of residents
What we look for:
* Registered Nurse DIV 1 - AHPRA Registered.
* 2+ years previous experience in Aged Care
* Proficient computer skills and working knowledge of iCare (desirable)
* Understanding of WHS responsibilities, including manual handling principles
* Knowledge of Aged Care Legislation, Accreditation and ANACC will be highly regarded
* Ability to travel regularly from 1 day to up to 2 weeks at a time
* Current First Aid Certificate
* Valid police check clearance
* Must be eligible to work in Australia.
* Valid driver's licence and a safe, reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle (mandatory for the role).

Travel & Assignment Details:
* Assignments will generally range from 1 day to 2 weeks for each visit with a minimum of one week at home village between assignments.
* Travel may include flights for assignments outside the home village region.
* Travel and meal allowance is provided.
* Assignments without provided accommodation will be within 60 minutes journey time or 80km from the home village.
