About the Role
As a Senior Management Accountant, you will oversee financial reporting and analysis for your allocated region either West Vic (based at Derrimut) or East Vic (based at one of our East branches) while also contributing to group‐wide initiatives and improvements.
You'll review reporting across multiple branches, lead budgeting and forecasting cycles, develop analytical tools, and provide strategic advice to General Managers and branch leaders.
You will also mentor and support a team of Management Accountants, ensuring excellence, consistency and strong financial governance across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee monthly management accounts, variance analysis and KPI reporting across branches.
* Review, challenge and approve work produced by Management Accountants.
* Consolidate group results and highlight trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
* Lead annual budgets, rolling forecasts and year‐end financial statements.
* Maintain strong governance over cashflow, receipting and working capital.
* Enhance and maintain financial models, dashboards and analytical tools.
Business Partnering & Leadership
* Act as a trusted advisor to General Managers and Branch Managers.
* Lead complex analysis including margin, pricing and profitability reviews.
* Support strategic and operational initiatives with business cases and scenario modelling.
* Build strong cross‐functional relationships across Sales, Service, Parts and Admin.
* Mentor and develop Management Accountants, ensuring high standards and capability.
* Provide leave coverage to maintain continuity of reporting and support.
Planning, Controls & Compliance
* Oversee warranty claims, receivables and OEM‐related financial items.
* Support stocktake investigations and promote strong stock control practices.
* Strengthen internal controls across all accounting and administrative functions.
* Ensure compliance with statutory and audit requirements across all sites.
About You
You're a confident, proactive leader who enjoys problem‐solving, coaching others and working closely with the business.
You will bring:
* Accounting Degree with CA or CPA accreditation.
* Strong experience in management accounting or financial management.
* Advanced Excel and financial analysis capability.
* Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
* A commercial mindset and strong leadership presence.
* Automotive industry experience (advantageous but not essential).
* Driver's licence and Police Check.
