Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Environment Technical Specialist to join our Corporate Governance Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in conducting environmental assessments, surveys, and inspections on marine leases and farming regions.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct field and laboratory-based environmental assessments on marine leases and farming regions
* Plan and execute benthic and water quality surveys for regulatory bodies
* Operate and maintain Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) for underwater inspections and benthic surveys
* Analyse environmental data and prepare clear, accessible reports for stakeholders
* Investigate environmental incidents and support marine operations with monitoring issues such as algae blooms and jellyfish
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental obligations during all on-water activities
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Tertiary qualifications in Aquaculture, Marine, or Environmental Science
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly
* Proven ability to build and manage stakeholder relationships and influence outcomes
* Experience working autonomously and collaboratively to deliver advice and recommendations
* Technical knowledge of aquaculture operations and compliance obligations
* Ability to adapt and remain calm in dynamic environments, including offshore conditions
* High attention to detail and proactive approach to continuous improvement
* Coxswain's licence or ability to obtain
