The Client Sui Hair Salon is located in Bourke Street in Melbourne city that provides a range of services to clients for all their hairdressing needs. They are looking for an energetic, passionate and motivated qualified Hairdresser to join their creative, friendly salon on a fulltime basis. The Role As a Hairdresser, you will be competent and confident in all aspects of hairdressing including colouring, cutting and blow drying, possesses friendly personality, excellent customer service skills, great communication skills, creative, quick learner, well-groomed and well-presented. You will demonstrate a passion for working and willing to work flexible hours in a friendly, supportive team in a happy and professional work environment. This is a full-time role with an annual salary between $76,700 to $77,700 plus superannuation. Responsibilities Greet clients and consult with them about their specific needs for their appointment Suggest possible hairstyles as per clients' facial features, current trends and their needs Cut, trim and shape hair and/or hairpieces, based on client's instructions, hair type and facial features; using clippers, scissors, trimmers, razors and any other relevant equipment required Shape eyebrows and remove facial hair with thread Perform colouring, perming, straightening, cutting, trimming, and styling duties as needed Perform colouring by mixing appropriate amount of hair colour and/or bleaching products by following safe practices. For example, check with the client if they have had any allergic reaction to hair products or ingredients used for these products Apply water, setting, straightening or waving solutions to hair and use curlers, rollers, hot combs and curling irons to press and curl hair Shampoo and dry hair before and/or after treatment and style it using brushes, hair irons, combs, etc Massage and treat scalp for hygienic and remedial purposes, using hands or massaging tools Advise clients about hair care treatments they can employ at home to maintain healthy hair and achieve desired results Demonstrate clients with information on various products, its use and benefits. Sell relevant products according to client's needs Shape eyebrows and remove facial hair, using depilatory cream, tweezers, electrolysis or wax Though rare - shave, trim and shape beards and moustaches Keep work station clean and sanitise tools such as scissors, combs and any other tools and equipment that require sanitisation Requirements In order to be shortlisted for this position, the right candidate needs to have: At least a Certificate III / Certificate IV in Hairdressing or higher qualifications A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience A minimum of 6 years experience in cutting both male and female hairstyles A minimum of 6 years' experience in hair cutting, colouring and extensions Must have strong knowledge in colour theory and technique Must know how to also work with Asian hair styles and trends Be motivated and enjoy working in a team Demonstrated excellent customer service skills Display an excellent attention to detail Be able to handle pressure in a professional manner Have positive past employment work references Able to work on weekends
