Catalyst Metals owns and operates the Plutonic Gold Mine in the Eastern Gascoyne region of Western Australia. The Company produces 110koz of gold annually from two operations – the Plutonic Gold Mine in WA & the Henty Gold Mine in Australia. It also holds the Four Eagles Gold Project in Bendigo.
The Company plans to bring four new mining areas at Plutonic into production over the next 12 to 18 months, growing Group production to 200koz of gold.

The Role
Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, the Laboratory Technician is responsible for ensuring a safe and productive work environment, by demonstrating, following and developing safe work practices/procedures that meet statutory and Company OHS requirements
The Laboratory Technician will undertake a range of laboratory tasks from sample preparation to analytical. The Technician is expected to maintain optimum performance of equipment and personal development to achieve lowest cost production
You'll be working an 8:6 roster, within a great team environment. You will work day and night shift with all functions of the site including underground, processing and teams in matters relating to underground geological activities, and you will be responsible for championing geological mapping and sampling of all development to allow evaluation of the ore bodies.
Departing from Perth you'll fly directly to Plutonic arriving within 90mins of departure. Once onsite you are accommodated in a well-established camp that boasts a substantial gym, squash courts, multipurpose court, pool, and modern ensuite rooms with Wi-Fi, just to list some of the facilities.
What to expect in the role but are not limited to:
* Ensure pre-start checks are completed on the Jaw Crusher, Pulverisers, Dust Extractor, Sieve Shaker and the Drying Ovens.
* Operate the Jaw Crusher, Pulveriser, Dust Extractor, Sieve Shaker, Bottle Roller and the Drying Ovens and their associated equipment in accordance with established procedures.
* Ensure required PM checks are done.
* Pre-start checks and operation of Fire Assay equipment including fusion furnace, cupellation furnace, flux tumbler and weigh station in accordance with procedures
* Ensure all reagents storage is as per Australian standard of Dangerous Goods, the facility is checked, and all is stored in accordance with established procedures.
* Operate the Fume cupboard and all its associated equipment in accordance with established procedures.
* Operate the AAS and associated equipment in accordance with established procedures.
* Ensure equipment and processes are undertaken in accordance with established procedures and report any issues or problems arising impacting on processing
* Daily, weekly and monthly reporting.
What you need to have:
* Experience in a similar role.
* Basic Secondary Education (Year 10).
* Cert IV in Lab Techniques (desirable).
* Current LF high risk license
* Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers License.
* Computer literacy with the ability to use Microsoft Office.
* Experience in gold processing plant operation
* Good communication skills, written and verbal.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
