The role
You'll be out on the road transporting scrap metal between customer sites and our yards. It's a hands‐on job with variety - different sites, different materials, and a run that keeps you moving.
You'll also be doing some material identification and grading on‐site and working with bins at customer locations so an eye for product and a bit of nous about how a yard works goes a long way.
What you'll be doing
* Operating HR vehicles safely and in line with CoR requirements
* Managing daily runs - planning, timing, and making adjustments when things change
* Loading and unloading materials safely and efficiently
* Grading and identifying ferrous and non‐ferrous scrap (training provided)
* Keeping documentation accurate and up to date
* Managing bins at customer sites and flagging issues early
* Representing the business professionally at customer sites
Who we're looking for
* Valid HR licence (this is non‐negotiable)
* Solid understanding of Chain of Responsibility
* Comfortable working independently and managing your own run
* Good communicator - you'll deal with customers on‐site daily
* Crane or forklift ticket is a bonus, not a dealbreaker
* Basic computer literacy for route and reporting systems
Why work with Sims?
* Late‐model trucks - we invest in the equipment because we know it matters to you
* Company paid parental Leave: 12 weeks primary / 6 weeks non‐primary carer
* BUPA health insurance discounts for you and your family
* Confidential EAP counselling support
