About The Role
As a signaller, manage and monitor coordination of all Train movements within the designated Control Area.
Operating a signal Control Console, perform customer service duties inclusive of undertaking ticket sales, maintaining ticket stock and managing daily bank deposits
Key accountabilities include:
* Operate the infield signalling equipment as required for trains arriving and departing from locations
* Efficiently and safely control the movement of trains, infrastructure vehicles and protection workgroups within designated locations by operation of points and signals.
* Operate the Signal Control panel for the control of all signals and points within the control area.
* Liaise with Train Control, maintenance and neighbouring networks for the operation and Safe working of all rail traffic and works
* Attend to switching out of interlockings as required.
* Liaise with neighbouring signal boxes for Safe working of all rail traffic and works
* Establish and maintain a working environment that provides for the safety and well-being of staff, the community, and customers. Rolling stock and the infrastructure
* Implementing safety strategies in areas of responsibility.
Additional competencies when supporting at Kilmore East + Wallan:
* Station Management: Ensure station is opened and closed in accordance with operational and security procedures.
* Security: Ensure the signal control centre is secure and no unauthorised access
* Customer & Community: Endeavour to resolve, at the first point, customer and community issues and complaints.
* Health, Safety & Environment: In conjunction with managers implement V/Line's sustainability action plan as required.
* Leadership & Culture: Works collaboratively with other functions and individuals to achieve common goals.
* Compliance: Compliance with all statutory obligations, internal policies and procedures relevant to work responsibilities, duties and work practices, including maintaining documents and records as assigned responsibility for.
* Teamwork: Foster teamwork and establish professional working relationship with internal and external teams within V/Line
Location & Travel Considerations
* Given the critical, hands-on nature of the work, this is an onsite-only position based at Seymour. Due to fatigue management considerations, candidates who reside within 1 hour/ 80 kms radius will be required.
About You
This position will suit a detail-oriented operator with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You will have the opportunity to thrive in time-sensitive environments and make quick, accurate decisions under pressure. You need to bring excellent communication and reasoning skills to every task.

* Valid driver's License
* Willingness and able to travel between Kilmore East + Wallan based on business needs

* Section 37 Block Signalling for Double Lines
* Train order system
* Section 34 Operating procedures (specific locations)
