About the role
Kern Accountants' is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our team in Townsville, Queensland. This can either be in a Causal or Full-Time position. This position could suit someone coming back into the work force or someone only wanting a few days a week. But this position can also be Full-Time for the right candidate.
What you'll be doing
1. Preparing and lodging income tax returns, BAS and other tax documentation for individual and corporate clients including SMSF'S
2. Preparation of financial statements for individuals, companies, partnerships, trusts & SMSF'S
3. Interview and speaking to clients
4. Liaising with clients, ATO representatives and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate tax compliance
What we're looking for
1. Degree in Accounting or relevant field, with a strong focus on taxation
2. Some years of post-qualification experience in tax accounting, preferably within a public practice environment
3. CPA/CA preferred but not essential
4. Excellent technical knowledge of Australian tax laws and regulations
5. Strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
7. Passion for delivering exceptional client service
