About the Role
This position starts as a casual 3 days per week, primarily in our Supported Employment Program, with opportunities to pick up Community Access and weekend access shifts as the service expands.
In our Supported Employment Program, you will assist individuals with disabilities to succeed in their workplace by providing practical support, encouragement, and tailored guidance. You will help build vocational skills, foster independence, and contribute to a safe and inclusive work environment. This role places a strong focus on capacity building and goal setting, empowering individuals to grow in confidence, achieve their employment goals, and develop their potential.
Within our Community Access Program, you will support participants both onsite and in the community to engage in social, recreational, and educational activities. You will play a key role in promoting independence by assisting with daily routines, providing transport, encouraging community engagement, and supporting active participation. This role also involves promoting wellbeing, working toward individual goals, and ensuring all activities are delivered safely and in line with organisational policies.
Essential Disability Support Responsibilities
This is a direct disability support role, and applicants must be comfortable providing:
• Personal care, including bathroom assistance and hygiene support
• Mobility assistance and safe physical support
• Behavioral support, using positive, person‑centered approaches
• Emotional regulation support and de‑escalation when needed
• Safety supervision, including managing absconding risks
About You
We're looking for someone who;
• Is experienced in disability support (supported employment or community access preferred)
• Is confident providing personal care and behavioral support
• Is motivated, keen and reliable. We will hire the right person who eager to learn, over someone with years of experience that isn't motivated.
• Is able to work independently and within a supportive team
• Is passionate about inclusion, empowerment, and positive outcomes
• Has a Drivers license and fully comprehensive insurance or happy to obtain.
