The Opportunity
The School of Psychological Sciences seeks an experienced Educational Designer to support continuous improvement in teaching and learning. Working with educational designers, learning designers, academic staff and professional teams, this role provides expert advice on the effective use of educational technologies to enhance student learning. A key focus is ensuring educational innovation is underpinned by sound pedagogical principles while respecting academic disciplinary expertise.
Within the School Education Portfolio, this position supports the design, development, implementation and evaluation of initiatives strengthening online, blended and flipped learning, eAssessment practices and contemporary learning environments. The role also supports the transition to emerging educational technologies, providing guidance and technical support while contributing to strategic education projects. In addition, the Educational Designer helps refine workflows and processes through digital tools and automation to improve efficiency and consistency in teaching and administrative tasks.
The position requires a strong foundation in educational design and learning technologies, including curriculum design, constructive alignment of learning outcomes and assessment, and the development of engaging online learning activities. Familiarity with learning management systems such as Moodle and experience in workflow optimisation and automation is essential. A relevant qualification in education, educational technology, Psychology or a related STEM discipline is required, along with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
