Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as Police Security Officers. In this role, you will be responsible for providing operational support in ensuring the security of government assets.
The Police Security Services Branch (PSSB) is a business unit of SAPOL that provides security services to the public sector through police security officers. The primary functions include:
* Providing security services for government critical infrastructure and high-risk assets.
* Alarm monitoring and CCTV surveillance across government departments.
* Protection of people, places, and property in support of frontline police officers.
As a Police Security Officer, you will work under general direction to ensure efficient security of government assets on a 24/7 roster basis. Key outcomes include:
* Responding to security incidents and alarm activations.
* Operating alarms, CCTV, and emergency systems to coordinate incident response.
* Providing protective security duties including operating security equipment.
* Preparing reports and statements for evidentiary purposes.
* Assisting in training and induction of branch members.
* Engaging with stakeholders for best practice customer service.
* Reporting security breaches and maintaining proficiency in systems and databases.
* Maintaining journals, logs, and notebooks as required by policy.
* Providing safe custody and transport services for persons detained.
* Providing secure conveyance for vulnerable persons.
