As an APS4 Practice Officer, you will operate within multidisciplinary teams, providing essential clinical administrative and customer service support to facilitate the delivery of mental health and wellbeing services to eligible veterans and their immediate families. This support is delivered in person (front reception) and via telephone. The role also provides operational and administrative support to regional clinical service delivery teams to ensure the provision of high‑quality services to the veteran and families community. Practice Officers may work across multiple functions and service delivery streams, including office management and service delivery operations. Duties and Responsibilities As an APS4 Practice Officer, you will: Provide front‑of‑house and administrative support across all service delivery streams, including data entry and record keeping Provide administrative support to operational tasks as directed by the Regional Practice Manager Act as the first escalation point for clients, contracted health providers, and external stakeholder enquiries Coordinate administrative requirements for client referrals to internal and external providers, including managing data, correspondence, and client information across referral platforms and client management systems Coordinate administrative requirements for group programs and mental health literacy workshops Assist with administrative induction and training of new employees and contracted health providers Undertake financial management activities, including drafting procurement documentation, processing invoices, reconciling payments, and tracking expenditure Provide office management support for centres and regional satellite offices, including assets, property, IT, and travel requirements Support the Practice Manager and Assistant Practice Manager with quality assurance, compliance, audits, reporting, and operational data Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships Support workplace practices aligned with Occupational Health and Safety, Workplace Diversity, APS Values and Employment Principles, and the APS Code of Conduct Understand and actively support the mission and business objectives of Open Arms Essential Experience Demonstrated experience supporting business operations and service delivery within a health service and/or government environment Strong written and verbal communication skills, assessed in accordance with the APS Work Level Standards (WLS) Essential Requirements A current Working with Vulnerable People registration, or the ability to obtain one OR A current Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one What you need to do now: If you or anyone you know is interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV.
