As the Senior Data Scientist, you will support the development of need and demand forecasts, service planning benchmarks, methodologies, and reports to inform policy, healthcare commissioning and service plans including via the management, analysis and interpretation of data and literature. What you'll do
• Analyse components of service plans and other documentation related to service planning to support the provision of well-considered advice within the Department or to external stakeholders.
• Develop and or contribute to the preparation of timely and well researched submissions, discussion papers and reports.
• Utilise and ensure compliance with contemporary human resource management practice and principles including workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and antidiscrimination requirements.
• Provide ethical decision-making in the achievement of organisational goals.
About you
We are searching for someone who has:
• Strong data manipulation and analysis skills to enable data transformations and complex analysis, including building fundamental algorithms and statistical models.
• Ability to use on-premises or cloud-based data integration, analytics and reporting technologies, including but not limited to Azure, SQL Server, R Studio/ Posit Workbench, Power BI, Qlik, and/or Tableau.
• Ability to critically analyse and identify patterns to derive actionable insights and effectively communicate findings in a meaningful and professional manner.
• Basic knowledge of health priority areas; the health needs of key population groups; and key health system issues.
