Renewable Energy Project Finance Specialist
The role of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) or Finance Manager is to oversee the financial operations of a company involved in the development and operational phases of a renewable energy project in Timor-Leste. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IFRS, experience in senior-level financial leadership roles, and expertise in project finance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead financial governance, reporting, and compliance across all phases of the project.
* Negotiate and execute financing agreements with international financial institutions.
* Develop and implement financial policies, budgeting frameworks, and internal controls.
* Manage cash flow, debt covenants, FX exposure, and ensure IFRS compliance.
* Provide accurate and timely financial reports to shareholders, lenders, and government stakeholders.
* Serve as the primary finance contact for lenders, off-takers, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in economics, business, or a related field (or equivalent).
* Fluency in English is required; Portuguese, Tetum, French, or Japanese is a plus.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in senior-level financial leadership roles with exposure to project finance is preferred.
* Experience in renewable energy or infrastructure projects is preferred.
* Strong understanding of IFRS; experience with IFRIC 12 is a plus.
* Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
* Strong financial acumen with the ability to support a high-performance organisation.
* Experience negotiating complex agreements with financial institutions.
* Proven ability to build and lead diverse teams in fast-paced environments.
