We are regularly tendering works in Brisbane and greater QLD, seeking experienced Cost Controllers / Estimators to join us for upcoming consulting opportunities in road infrastructure projects with state government road authorities, urban and regional councils. We work on many Preferred Supplier Panels and often assist with Reconstruction of Essential Public Assets (REPA) following natural disaster events, under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) administered by the QLD Reconstruction Authority (QRA).
Responsibilities
* Manage cost control processes: accurate collection, recording and reporting on forecast project costs.
* Assist with submissions to funding authorities.
* Contribute to cost planning and control, including budget allocation, core forecasting, cashflow forecasting, cost review, variance analysis and cost reporting across the work programs.
* Assist with cost planning and control functions across delivery teams, ensuring integration with planning and scheduling, financial accounting and commercial functions.
* Ensure cost control systems and procedures are implemented according to established procedures across software platforms.
* Apply project monitoring, analysis and change control throughout the project using best practice techniques.
* Interface with and manage relationships with delivery team members, departments, consultants, advisors, delivery partners, contractors and wider government participants through clear communication to promote effective cost management of the program.
Mandatory Experience
* At least 5 years as a Cost Controller / Estimator on industrial or commercial construction projects, with at least 2 years on civil road infrastructure projects with any Australian state government road authority or Australian council (preferably in Queensland).
Desirable Experience
* Prior experience with the Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) or any urban or regional QLD council.
* Experience working with any disaster funding arrangements – please express this in your cover letter.

Critical Note: Overseas candidates without mandatory experience are not considered. Must have a current QLD or Australian driver's licence. The role is based in Brisbane or greater QLD region; hours are nominally 40 hrs per week, but may vary as needed.
