AKWP Heritage Advisors Pty Ltd is seeking suitably qualified, listed Heritage Advisors (Victoria) and graduate archaeologists to join our team for multiple projects across Melbourne and regional Victoria.
We are seeking expressions of interest from recent graduates and subcontractors — to support a growing list of projects. Engagement can be casual or subcontractor-based, with part-time or permanent opportunities considered for the right candidate.
ABOUT THE ROLE & YOU
This is a hybrid position with flexibility to work from home and from our new office in Melbourne's South-East suburbs.
Fieldwork travel will be required from time to time. You will be part of a supportive team working on varied heritage projects in a practical, collaborative environment.
We are looking for someone who is reliable, adaptable, and comfortable working flexible hours, including during fieldwork. You should also be willing to travel to project sites and attend meetings across Melbourne and regional Victoria.
THE OPPORTUNITY
For Heritage Advisors (HA's):Use your communication and time management skills to:
• Undertake CHMP reports and research for Aboriginal and historical heritage projects
• Supervise archaeological survey and excavation projects
• Undertake Aboriginal stakeholder consultation and project administration
• Write technical reports and contribute to the preparation of heritage assessments
HA Requirements:
· Listed Heritage Advisor/Archaeologist with First People -State Relations with at least 2 to 5 years of experience.
· A tertiary qualification, preferably an Honours degree in Archaeology or Anthropology (or Arts or Science) with an emphasis on Australian Aboriginal archaeology.
· Demonstrated Project Management experience with Cultural Heritage Management Plans.
· Experience in all aspects of Cultural Heritage Management Plan report writing will be highly regarded.
For Graduates:Develop your skills and gain hands-on experience by:
• Assisting Heritage Advisors with CHMP report writing and fieldwork
• Supporting archaeological survey and excavation projects
• Assisting with project administration and Aboriginal stakeholder consultation
• Contributing to the preparation of technical reports and heritage assessments
Graduate Requirements:
· A tertiary qualification, preferably an Honours degree in Archaeology (or Arts or Science) with an emphasis on Australian Aboriginal archaeology.

· Full Victorian driver's license
· Current first aid certificate and Construction Induction White Card;
