The role
St Catherine's Catholic College Singleton is seeking a Permanent Part Time (26.75 hours per week) Learning Support Assistant to join the team.
St Catherine's is a co‐educational school offering a comprehensive curriculum for students from Kindergarten to Year 12, with a focus on high expectations for all students, a Gifted Education Program, and differentiated curriculum for diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities
- Support teachers in ensuring each child has the opportunity to grow academically and spiritually, inviting students and their families into a faith‐filled educational experience.
- Promote the school as a place of learning and excellence, nurturing creativity and curiosity and connecting students with their world through deep learning and engagement.
- Under teachers' direction provide assistance with school routines, classroom activities, and the care and support of students with disability.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Clear understanding of and personal commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the Church through Catholic schools.
- Experience working with students with disability (K‐12).
- Ability to work under the direction of a teacher and collaborate with school staff, CSO staff, and external stakeholders.
- Skill to effectively administer assessments and deliver interventions under teachers' direction.
- Capacity to implement adjustments required for individual students and groups of students.
- Experience supporting student enrolment and transitions under teachers' direction.
- Knowledge of relevant Disability legislation and the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data.
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
Qualifications
- Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number.
- Completion of anaphylaxis training.
- Certificate III or IV in School Based Education Support, or experience in schools (desirable).
Conditions of Employment
Salary is in accordance with the New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2023.
