**The Role**
The Aviation Quality Manager oversees quality assurance (compliance/conformance) and continuous improvement of the Cadet Aviation Audit Program.
The critical duties are as follows:
- Manage the cadet aviation audit schedule.
- Manage findings from audits, airworthiness boards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage the cadet aviation master/strategic schedule and battle rhythm (audits, safety reviews, key events etc.).
- Manage aviation standing Instructions.
**About our Team**
The Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) is a newly created position to manage the Cadets Branch - Air Force (CB-AF) Aviation Quality Management System. The QAM is accountable to the CB-AF Accountable Manager for monitoring compliance with flight operations and airworthiness regulations and procedures.
The QAM achieves this by managing:
- A small Quality Management team.
- An audit program of internal and contracted flying and maintenance organisations.
- A reporting and tracking system of audit findings and corrective actions.
- A system of Orders, Instructions & Publications.
They will be proficient at providing strategic advice to senior management and stakeholders as well as leading and assuming responsibility for highly complex work that may have strategic, political or reputational significance.
To respond to the key elements of the position, it is critical to demonstrate high level written and verbal communication skills, and to display an extensive knowledge in understanding, interpreting and contributing to Defence's Policy in the administration of the AAFC Aviation Quality Management
System.
