PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the redevelopment and launch of Carriageworks’ new website and related digital systems. This 9-month fixed term contract will see you drive the project from start to finish, from discovery and planning through to build, testing, launch and post-launch improvements. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the arts and cultural sector, helping create a digital experience that connects audiences to Carriageworks’ vibrant program of contemporary arts, events and community initiatives. Working closely with our web agency and internal teams, you will keep the project moving, manage stakeholders, and ensure delivery is on time, on budget and aligned with our goals. You will bring strong digital knowledge, confidence working across systems, and a proven track record delivering complex website or digital transformation projects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Including but not limited to: Lead and manage the website redevelopment project, acting as the liaison between Carriageworks and the web agency, as well as the central point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders; Ensure that every phase of the project from discovery and design to launch, supports the projects strategic priorities and revenue objectives; Manage all aspects of the web agency relationship, including contract and Statement of Work, and facilitate project delivery internally; Develop and manage a detailed project timeline, ensuring all deliverables (including philanthropic partner reporting) are met on schedule while proactively identifying and mitigating risks or delays; Review of all current digital systems and implement new solutions; Collect and prioritise feedback and secure approvals from key stakeholders at major project milestones; With the Head of Marketing and Communications, Website Copywriter, and web agency, create a content strategy and sitemap for the new website, ensuring copywriter is appropriately briefed on deliverables; Facilitate the web agency’s integration with internal and external teams; Manage the project budget, ensuring all invoices are processed and tracked in accordance with finance processes and systems; Lead internal communications and provide regular project updates to key stakeholders including CEO, General Manager and Director – Marketing, Communications and Audiences; Work with Head of Development on required reporting for philanthropic partner, ensuring all required reports are completed on time and to brief; Work with Head of Marketing and Communications and Digital Marketing Manager to coordinate launch planning and execution; Lead the testing and content migration from the existing site portions of the build, alongside the web agency; Testing all website integrations including Tessitura, GA4 and any other supporting systems; Define user roles and coordinate training for internal teams on the new website, ensuring appropriate user manual documentation for future use; and Set up templates for ongoing website reporting.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA Proven experience managing end-to-end digital or website redevelopment projects, ideally within arts, culture, or other ticketed or customer-facing environments. Strong understanding of web technologies, including CMS platforms, CRM integrations (preferably Tessitura), analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics), and related digital systems. Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to manage input, expectations, and approvals across diverse teams and leadership levels. Experience managing external agencies and vendors, including design, development, and content partners Proven budget management skills, invoice processing, and reconciliation in collaboration with finance teams Strong understanding of CMS platforms (e.g. WordPress or headless CMS), website integrations, API concepts, hosting environments, accessibility standards and digital analytics. Knowledge of UX/UI principles, accessibility standards, and digital best practices, including SEO and the evolving landscape of AI-driven capabilities Experience with content strategy and development, including content audits, information architecture, and optimisation for user experience and SEO Highly organised and detail-oriented, with excellent time management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment Strong skills in the Microsoft Office suite and confidence working with project management tools and digital filing systems
