About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist to join NSW Public Works within the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD).
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and managing the delivery of environmental impact assessments, providing expert land use planning advice aligned with client needs, and mentoring junior staff.
You will manage complex environmental and land use planning projects, including coordinating specialist sub-consultants, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support effective project delivery.
Occasional travel across NSW, including overnight stays, will be required.
About You
You have demonstrated experience managing large and complex land use planning and environmental assessment projects, including the management of specialist sub-consultants.
You are skilled in building and maintaining strong relationships within and outside NSW Public Works and have the capacity to develop in-depth knowledge of client portfolios. You bring strong stakeholder management skills and are comfortable working in a busy, consultancy-style environment.
You will also have:
* An appropriate degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science or Geography, or a related discipline, or a similar relevant qualification.
* Eligibility for membership of the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand.
* A valid NSW driver's licence.
