The Commercial and Property Officer role at Moonee Valley City Council is a vital position that plays a key part in making high-quality decisions regarding Council-owned and/or managed properties.
Main Responsibilities:
* Undertake designated operational and statutory duties with emphasis on management of leases/licenses, sales, and acquisitions;
* Continuously assess and provide options to optimise the use and return on Council's property portfolio consistent with Council objectives;
* Liaise as key contact for internal service representatives that manage Council's relationships with external occupiers under leases, licenses, or other occupancy agreements;
* Implement and administer leases, licenses, and other agreements in conjunction with the Senior Commercial Property Officer to protect Council's interests;
* Draft reports and recommendations to the Executive Team and Council;
* Navigate Land Use Victoria website to determine relevant property identifiers and access title/plan documents;
* Assist with property sales and acquisitions in accordance with legislative requirements and Council objectives;
* Maintenance and management of Title Register for Council-owned property;
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualification in property management or related discipline, or relevant work experience in a property management environment;
* Local government knowledge and experience is desirable;
Key Skills:
* Experience and understanding of road status, easement rights, and land ownership implications;
