Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified Painter to carry out preparation, refinishing and painting
duties across a range of timber, MDF and interior surfaces used in cabinetry, joinery and
renovation projects. This role supports the business's production workflow by ensuring
surfaces are properly prepared and finished to the expected standard.
Key Responsibilities
• Set up work areas using ladders, platforms or basic scaffolding as needed and cover
surrounding areas to protect them from paint marks.
• Prepare surfaces by removing existing coatings where required, repairing timber
components, filling cracks, patching holes, and smoothing surfaces to achieve an even
base.
• Mix and prepare paints and coatings to the correct colour, texture and consistency
using appropriate ratios of paint base, tint and additives.
• Apply paint, sealers, stains and finishing products to surfaces using brushes, rollers or
spray equipment in accordance with project specifications.
• Install decorative or protective wall finishes including wallpaper, ensuring accurate
pattern matching and trimming where necessary.
• Clean tools, brushes, rollers and work areas after completing tasks to maintain a safe
and organised workspace.
• Occasionally assist in minor repairs including sealing, restoring or replacing timber trim
or glass within wooden frames, where required.
Candidate Requirements
• Minimum one year full‑time experience in painting or surface preparation.
• Reliable, motivated and able to follow instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce consistent, high‑quality finishes.
• Willingness to learn company‑specific techniques and contribute to team workflow.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a production‑based environment.
