Senior Farmhand – Irrigation Full-time | Family-owned We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Farmhand to join our clients team on a flood irrigated property located between Wee Waa and Burren Junction. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys responsibility, operates well independently, and takes pride in high-quality farm work. About the Role Reporting to the owners, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running and operations across an 800ha irrigated cotton farm, located about 45minutes drive from the home farm. The position involves: Operating and maintaining all farm machinery (tractors, spray rigs, earthmoving equipment, etc.) Siphon irrigation, running pumps, monitoring water levels, cleaning channels, and general water operations Planting, spraying, cultivation, and harvesting support General farm maintenance: workshop tasks, machinery servicing Directing and supervising casual or seasonal labour when required Maintaining accurate records and contributing to a safe, tidy farm environment About You We are looking for someone who brings: Demonstrated experience in irrigated agriculture (cotton experience highly regarded) Strong machinery operation and mechanical aptitude Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently & within a small team Reliability, initiative, and pride in producing quality work Current driver’s licence (HR/HC an advantage but not essential) ChemCert, forklift or telehandler tickets desirable but not required Benefits Above-award remuneration Well-maintained machinery and modern farm infrastructure A stable, long-term position with a supportive, family-owned business Opportunities for skill development and increased responsibility On-farm accommodation How to Apply If you’re a capable operator looking for a rewarding role in a professional business producing food and fibre, we’d love to hear from you.
