Our company is seeking an Interior Design Leader to drive the design process for high-impact commercial projects. This role will involve working closely with clients, in-house teams, and external stakeholders to ensure designs meet their needs.
About The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading interior architecture design from concept through to delivery. They will need to balance design quality with buildability, budget, and timeline considerations.
Key Responsibilities
* Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop design concepts.
* Collaborate with engineers, consultants, and suppliers to ensure design integration and compliance with codes and standards.
* Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and resources to meet deadlines.
* Develop detailed interior documentation, including plans, elevations, specifications, and schedules.
* Monitor construction progress, ensuring design intent is maintained and issues are resolved.
* Mentor junior designers, sharing knowledge and expertise to improve team performance.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
What We're Looking For
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Interior Architecture.
* At least 8 years of experience in interior architecture or commercial interiors design, preferably in sectors like medical, veterinary, or childcare.
* A strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality interior architecture work, from concept to detailed delivery.
* Excellent technical skills, including documentation detailing and knowledge of materials, FF&E, lighting, and finishes.
* Proficiency in Revit or similar software.
* Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and construction processes.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
* Good project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple projects and manage budgets and timelines.
