About the Role
As a key member of our Catering team, the Chef Manager is responsible for delivering exceptional catering services to clients every day. This role provides significant independence and scope, overseeing food service standards, presentation, and ensuring compliance with legislation and best practices. Working in close collaboration with senior management, the Chef Manager ensures smooth and efficient catering operations on Elcho Island
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee catering operations at Elcho Island, maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
* Ensure safe use of all kitchen and meal distribution equipment, with strict attention to hygiene
* Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive food safety and hygiene plan, including staff training to meet accreditation standards
* Design and manage menus in line with client requirements and budget
About You:
* Experienced in managing catering operations, ideally in remote or community settings
* Hold a SIT40521 – Certificate IV in Kitchen Management
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and WH&S standards
* Ability to design and deliver menus within budget while maintaining quality
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

This position is based in a remote First Nations community in Arnhem Land, Northern Territory. This position is a fixed term contract.
