Employment type: Fixed Term Full-Time
Salary range: $119,000.0 − $127,696.0

You're a purposeful leader who understands the why and connects everyday moments to the bigger picture. You've been developing your skills and are ready to work on projects that matter to the people of NSW. You know that quality matters and that delivering results requires a great team.

In This Role

As part of the Road Maintenance and Resilience Division, this role leads and supports a team to deliver safe, efficient and high‐quality road construction and maintenance work. You'll coordinate resources, manage day‐to‐day activities, and ensure accurate reporting across safety, environmental and compliance requirements. The position also participates in an on‐call component, responding to incidents and operational needs as required.

You will be working within a brand‐new project that forms part of a busy and fast‐paced construction program. While the environment will be highly active and dynamic, the role will continue to offer a broad variety of tasks and responsibilities, giving you exposure to different aspects of project delivery and day‐to‐day operational work.

You will manage risks by monitoring performance and safety data, resolving issues, and ensuring all work complies with policy, contractual, WHS and environmental obligations. The role also supports managers and engineers with minor projects, exercising relevant delegations and assisting with estimating and contract management to ensure work is delivered to agency standards and timeframes.

This is a fixed‐term role (until 31 August 2027) located at Waratah.

About You

You have solid experience in civil construction, road maintenance, traffic management or foreman-level work, with the ability to interpret project, construction and contract documentation. You're confident leading crews and supervising both direct‐control and contractor teams to deliver safe, efficient and high‐quality work.

You communicate clearly, manage conflict effectively and build positive, productive team environments. Your collaborative, hands‐on leadership style motivates crews to perform at their best.

You also hold relevant trade qualifications and/or equivalent industry experience, along with any required tickets or certifications for agency works.
