Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our team as a Defence Cyber Range Systems Designer. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and managing the delivery of network aspects of the Defence Cyber Range.
About the Role
The DCR Network Engineer will work under general guidance and direction of the DCR Product Manager and Engineering Lead, actively planning and managing the delivery of the network aspects of the Defence Cyber Range.
To be successful in this position, the DCR Network Engineer must have a strong understanding of how the cyber range operates and appreciate the requirements to support its sustainment and functionally implementation of enhancements.
This is a challenging role that requires the ability to lead, plan, execute, manage and monitor the Defence Cyber Range design through to delivery, according to predetermined timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
* Elicit and document DCR system network requirements for review and approval.
* Develop DCR network designs that meet requirements, taking into account target environment, performance, and security requirements.
* Recommend/design structures and tools for systems that meet business needs, taking into account target environment, performance, and security requirements.
* Create solutions that balance business requirements with information and cyber security requirements.
* Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements.
* Translate logical designs into physical designs and produce detailed design documentation.
* Review current system designs, recommend, and implement enhancements.
* Provide guidance and supervision to DCR technical staff to implement DCR network designs.
* Liaise with all project stakeholders.

Other Information
Please note that this is a part-time position, requiring 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Negative Vetting Level 1 clearance.
