The Opportunity
Veolia is in an exciting position and ready to build on recent expansion. As a result, our Resource Recovery Capital Projects and Improvement team needs you to bring your financial modelling skills and your curious, lateral thinking approach to help analyse, shape and deliver both key capital projects and new efficiencies in processes and outcomes. This is not simply a financial analysis position - you will be engaging actively with business stakeholders, asking hard questions regarding projects and processes and using your keen analytical skills to ensure you make sound recommendations to our senior Investment Committee.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong accounting-based analytical background who is looking to take the next step into a more sophisticated and business-engaged stage in their career. You will bring your experience in analysis of tenders or equivalent financial modelling skill and apply it in a varied and interesting field.

What you'll be responsible for
* Commercial reviews and financial analysis of tenders and proposals from the State Finance Teams
* Preparation of financial business cases, briefing papers, memos and presenting to the Investment / Executive Committee
* Building relationships and partnering with the various lines of business, corporate teams, clients, external advisors and suppliers
* Conduct financial investigations of projects post implementation
* Identify and lead opportunities for improvement in the existing lines of business, including validating and challenging operational assumptions.
What you'll need to be successful
* Degree or qualification in finance, economics, accounting or business, with demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis
* Relevant experience in financial analysis involving project assessment and / or analysis of tenders or equivalent
* High financial acumen with ability to act as an effective business partner to financial and operational staff
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels of the organisation
* Direct experience using various valuation techniques and methodologies
* Advanced Excel skills.
