Urban Taskforce represents Australia's most prominent property developers and equity financiers. We provide a platform for companies involved in the development and planning of the urban environment to engage in constructive policy dialogue with all levels of government, the media and the community.
Role Description
We are looking for an individual with some work experience and/or qualifications in NSW planning or land economics, and/or planning law, who has strong research and report/submission/policy writing skills, and a sense of humour.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the centre of the public and policy debate regarding the future of, housing supply and our urban environment in a dynamic office environment. Key responsibilities involve research into policy, submission writing, contributions to the writing and layout of our newsletters, along with policy advocacy and analysis, in collaboration with our team and our members.
Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor's degree or experience in: NSW Planning; NSW Planning Law; Public Policy; Economics or Land Economics; Political Science; or a related field.
* Broad understanding of the political environment in NSW.
* Minimum of 3 years work experience in research, analysis, and submission/report writing in this or a similar field.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with a willingness to have views tested and challenged.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
* Experience in engaging with stakeholders and building relationships.
* Knowledge of urban development, planning, land use policies, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is essential; experience with databases, Chat GPT/AI along with statistical software is preferred.
This role will be full-time and will be based in the office at Martin Place. Salary will be discussed pending the skills and experience of the candidate.
