Mater is embarking on an exciting new era of growth and transformation, and is seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead our new hospital on the Gold Coast.

We are preparing to welcome Gold Coast Private Hospital into the Mater network—an important milestone that will strengthen our ability to serve communities across the state.
The acquisition process of the Gold Coast hospital is expected to complete in mid-2026. The GM role will play a pivotal part in shaping this integration and ensuring a seamless transition for patients, staff and partners.
This is a rare opportunity to be instrumental in the transition activities and be ready to shape the unified, purpose‐driven workforce and to champion a culture grounded in clinical excellence, equity and service.
* Provide strategic and operational leadership for Mater's new Gold Coast hospital
* Guide the integration of Gold Coast employees into a cohesive Mater workforce
* Drive decision‐making, implementation and change management for separation and integration with Mater's model
* Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement
* Strengthen relationships with government, clinical and medical partners and the community
* Ensure Mater continues to deliver exceptional care and uphold its Mission and values
* Lead with integrity, compassion and a commitment to the people we serve
About you
You are an inspiring and experienced Hospital Executive leader who brings:
* A strong track record of operating a large, complex private hospital
* Deep commitment to patient‐centred care and workforce engagement
* Proven ability to drive growth in private hospitals and to navigate change with clarity, confidence and empathy
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Strategic vision paired with operational discipline
* A values‐driven leadership style aligned with Mater's Mission
