Representing over 120 member organisations, we advocate for change, build capacity, and collaborate to improve the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Sector for all Queenslanders.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Advisor – Executive Office to provide high-quality executive, research, and project support to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Deputy CEO. This is a broad, dynamic position at the centre of the organisation, requiring strong judgement, analytical skills, and the ability to produce polished outputs for a senior audience.

You will also be responsible for researching stakeholders and policy issues, liaising with media, and entering accurate data from executive meetings into our systems to support decision-making and follow-up.

This role requires someone who thrives on producing professional, well-researched work, managing competing priorities, and providing a critical link between QAMH’s leadership and our members, partners, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Executive Office Support – Provide research, writing, and high-level administrative support to the CEO and Deputy CEO, including preparation of correspondence, advocacy material, and briefing notes.
- Research & Briefing – Undertake stakeholder and policy research, preparing concise and accurate background briefs for meetings and events.
- Media Liaison – Support executive engagement with journalists and media, including preparing briefing notes and tracking media interactions.
- Task & Workflow Management – Use systems (e.g. Monday.com, Salesforce) to track priorities, manage deadlines, and monitor progress on key deliverables.
- Administration & Logistics – Manage travel, payroll and accounts payable processing, coordinate meeting packs, and record and enter meeting notes into CRM and workflow systems.

About You

- Experience supporting senior leaders, with proven ability to produce high-quality outputs.
- Strong research, writing, editing, and formatting skills.
- Capacity to analyse and synthesise information for executive-level use.
- Excellent organisational and task management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency in workflow and CRM systems (e.g. Monday.com, Salesforce).
- High-level discretion, judgement, and ability to manage confidential information.
- Robust interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a small, values-driven team.
- Experience in the not-for-profit or membership-based sector.
- Exposure to government relations, advocacy, or stakeholder engagement.

What We Offer

- A role at the heart of a values-driven organisation with a real impact on mental health reform.
- Salary: SCHADS Award Level 7, with salary packaging options available
- Hybrid work arrangements are available, with our office located in Woolloongabba. Parking costs are reimbursed for up to three days per week.
