Join a leading contractor delivering cutting-edge electrical solutions across naval and commercial marine platforms.Hays is recruiting for experienced Electricians to join a high-performing team working on large-scale marine infrastructure projects. This role involves hands-on work both onboard vessels and within a specialised electrical workshop environment.
Your new role
As an Electrician, you’ll be responsible for the safe and compliant execution of electrical work across a variety of marine settings. You’ll collaborate with engineers, technicians, and project teams to deliver high-quality outcomes in line with Australian standards and defence protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test fixed wiring and earthing systems onboard vessels
- Run and secure cable support systems across naval and commercial platforms
- Assemble and repair electrical components including junction boxes and relay panels
- Use multimeters, megger testers, and other diagnostic tools to ensure compliance
- Interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and quality documentation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace in line with WHS and ISO 45001 standards
- Support broader workshop operations and assist with project delivery as required
What you'll need to succeed
• Australian-recognised Electrical Trade Certificate• Current White Card and Electrical Licence (Qualified Supervisor Certificate)
- Ability to pass a Federal Police Check and obtain Defence Security Clearance
- Strong understanding of AS/NZS 3000:2018 and marine electrical standards
- Experience in ship repair or marine environments highly regarded
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, safety-first mindset
