The Senior Business Analyst will play critical role in a major project to replace the organisation's existing Booking Service. The intent of the system replacement is to deliver an improved, customer enriched booking experience, address technology security and stability risks and consolidate product offerings into a single platform.
This user-focused role is responsible for the development of future state business processes and making recommendations for business transformation and associated deliverables across the project. Specifically, you will play critical role in a major project to replace the existing Booking Service. The intent of the system replacement is to deliver an improved, customer enriched booking experience, address technology security and stability risks and consolidate all product offerings into a single platform. The successful vendor has been contracted to deliver an off-the-shelf platform plus the required additional development work to ensure the platform is fit for purpose.
The Senior Business Analyst will report to the Program Director in relation to project requirement and will be supported by a Change Manager, Project Manager and two Senior Digital Project Officers.
In this role you will:Responsible for working with internal customers to help analyse and plan the improvement of processes and data insights, while understanding the opportunities and complexities of the existing workflow platforms and tools.
Lead business stakeholders from across the department for the purposes of engagement, and in conjunction with other Business SMEs, progress the elicitation of requirements and further definition and refinement of business requirements, confirming proposed designs, and conducting demonstration/review sessions of the working software developed as a result of the design.
Enabling digital product and service delivery capabilities that meet user expectations, building upon investments to date and incorporating contemporary tools and technologies
Explore digital solutions that other land management agencies utilise to understand their potential suitability for the information management and intelligence integration requirements of the client
Ensuring legislative obligations can be further met using an enterprise digital platform which will provide greater insights, ability for re-use, and connected digital assets
Simplifying business operations through efficient, effective, and complete data and information process or capture.
Building trust and confidence for staff in using digital first, from design and development through to delivery and support, while fostering entrepreneurialism and continuous service improvement to benefit all Queenslanders.
Work with business units, project managers and across project teams responsible for IT delivery and services.
Provide weekly leadership reports on project progress, achievements, and improvement areas.Role Fit:Theessentialrequirements for this role are:
Proven ability to gather and document business and functional requirements that provide a solid foundation for the design and implementation of appropriate solutions using formal processes and methods while delivering rapid, incremental outcomes.
Proven ability in the elicitation of business rules and business process mapping (using BPMN) and business process re-engineering and architecture.
Demonstrated knowledge of business analyst procedures and practices.
Previous experience working for a large IT/ICT organisation or IT Projects (involving significant and/or complex business change elements).
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and work across multiple initiatives and diverse stakeholder groups.
Demonstrated ability to manage the development and implementation of business and functional requirements with a team effectively and collaboratively.
Experience implementing and optimising solutions for remote work scenarios, ensuring seamless collaboration and data accessibility for distributed teams.
Familiarity with technologies and strategies for overcoming connectivity barriers, such as offline data synchronisation, cloud-based solutions, and efficient use of local resources.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
