Team Leader – Home & Living Supports (SIL)
Biala Support Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader – Home & Living Supports to provide strong, frontline leadership within our Supported Independent Living (SIL) services. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about person-centred practice, committed to quality service delivery, and ready to support a high-performing team.
The role provides visible, day-to-day leadership, oversight of support practices, and coordination of team performance to ensure safe, consistent, and high-quality service delivery aligned with NDIS Practice Standards. This position is allocated non-client facing time each week to lead operational responsibilities including rostering input, incident documentation, staff supervision, and coordination with head office team.
About the role:
As the Team Leader – Home & Living Supports, you will provide strong day-to-day leadership at our SIL site, ensuring safe, high-quality, person-centred support. You will:
Lead on-site practice by being a visible, hands-on leader and the first point of contact for staff, participants, and families.
Oversee participant support, ensuring routines align with NDIS plans, contributing to support plans and documentation, addressing changing needs, and completing one weekly overnight shift.
Support and develop staff through mentoring, onboarding, informal feedback, coaching, and helping maintain roster coverage.
Maintain high compliance standards by ensuring accurate reporting, incident escalation, documentation, and contributing to audits and quality improvements.
Manage operational tasks, including roster reviews, supervision notes, minor procurement, communication with allied health and families, and coordination with head office.
Participate in on-call duties as part of a rotating roster.
What you bring:
Experience working in disability support, ideally within a SIL or complex care environment
Strong knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards, person-centred approaches, and risk management
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team in a frontline or informal leadership role
Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
A responsive, supportive approach to participants, families, and staff
Confidence using digital systems for documentation and communication

Requirements:
Working With Children Check,
National Criminal History Check or NDIS Worker Screening,
First Aid & CPR, full clean driver's license, and reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
