We're looking for a qualified and detail‐orientedFinancialAccountantto join our Insurance Finance team and play a key role in ensuring the Integrity,accuracyand compliance of RAC Insurance's financial reporting.
As a FinancialAccountant, you will be responsible for preparing management and statutory financial reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and leading the end‐of‐month financial close process.
You will work closely with the Finance Manager and broader finance team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, maintain strong financial controls, and provide high‐quality insights to support decision‐making.
This role is offered on an initial 12 month Maximum Term Contract.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare statutory and regulatory reporting, including APRA returns and Annual Financial Statements
* Perform and coordinate the end‐of‐month financial close process
* Ensure integrity and accuracy of accounting balances and associated reports
* Prepare and review balance sheet, intercompany and other reconciliations, resolving discrepancies as required
* Account for insurance, reinsurance, intercompany transactions, income and expenses
* Prepare taxation information and returns (direct and indirect)
* Deliver variance analysis and financial reporting to support business insights
* Contribute to board papers relating to accounting matters
* Support budgeting and forecasting processes
* Deliver ad‐hoc projects and initiatives as required
* Review and approve journals and reconciliations completed by the Assistant Accountant
About You
You are a proactive and analytical finance professional who thrives in a fast‐paced environment and takes pride in delivering accurate and timely financial outcomes.
You will bring:
* Previous experience in a FinancialAccountant role
* Strong financial accounting and general ledger experience
* Strong Excel skills with exposure to Financial
* High attention to detail and strong analytical capability
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* The ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative and meet strict deadlines
* CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent)
* A relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor's degree minimum)
* Financial Services experience (highly desirable)
