Procurement Officer

About This Role: We are seeking a skilled and experienced procurement professional to join our team as a Procurement Officer.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for procurement to make a real difference in our organization. As a Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, from identifying business needs to selecting suppliers and negotiating contracts.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. You will also possess a solid understanding of procurement legislation and best practices.

* Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the procurement process, including developing and implementing procurement strategies, conducting market research, and evaluating tenders.
* Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop solutions.
* Provide support and guidance to colleagues on procurement-related matters.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in procurement or a related field.
* A Certificate IV (or higher) in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, or a similar discipline.
* A current Class C Driver's Licence.
* Strong working knowledge of procurement legislation and best practices.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to manage competing priorities and confidently lead processes from end to end.

What We Offer:

We offer a highly competitive salary range of $87,417 - $99,928, commensurate with your skills and experience, plus 12% Super within a supportive rural council environment.
