About the role
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will work within a defined territory as detailed by the Region Manager - Qld and has the responsibility for increasing the number of active accounts primarily in the On-Premise Fine Wine Retail channel but also in the Independent Retail Group channel.
The BDM will work to generate and convert sales leads into active accounts and on board them for servicing in line with the service tier model.
Key requirements
· Effective time management skills and the ability to work to KPI's and budgets.
· Prior relationships with local on premise or retail group stakeholders are preferred.
· Compliance to lead targeting and planning processes as set by NBDM.
· Develop opportunities with existing customers to gain mutually beneficial commercial outcomes for the business and the customer whilst selling across the range of products within the portfolios.
· Manage the expectations of all parties whilst delivering results in line with budgeted margin and product mix expectations.
· Execution of activation plans, provided by Customer Marketing, to deliver commercial success.
· Effective use of salesforce in line with company processes
· Occasional intrastate regional travel may be required.
About you
Previous experience in the wine, hospitality or liquor industry is essential with a solid understanding of Customer Relationship Management, Business Development and a Commercial Focus.
The ability to work autonomously is essential as is experience working with wine, WSET Level 2 or equivalent wine knowledge. An established network in the wine industry is considered desirable.
Strong business development and sales skills are a must and a strong commercial acumen including comfort working with margins and reporting is essential.
A current unrestricted driving licence to operate a company vehicle(s) is essential for the role.
