Newcastle West, NSW, AU, 2302**About the M1 South - Blackhill to Tomago project**:
A joint venture between John Holland and Gamuda Australia has been selected by Transport for NSW to deliver the M1 Pacific Motorway extension to Raymond Terrace Southern Package - a key missing link in one of the country's busiest transport corridors.
The $1.029 billion southern package will deliver a 10-kilometre dual carriageway motorway extension between Black Hill and Tomago. There will be 8 bridges that include a 2.6km viaduct and new congestion-busting interchanges at Black Hill, Tarro and Tomago.
**About the role**:
We're currently looking for an enthusiastic** People Advisor** to join our M1 Project based in Newcastle. You will assist and support the People team with the operational human resources service delivery, ensuring that all people policies, programs and initiatives are delivered consistently across the business.
**What you will do**:
- Provide general assistance to the Human Resource function in the implementation of HR strategies
- Manage foundational performance/ER issues providing timely and accurate advice and support to all key stakeholders
- Respond to any general HR related enquiries from employees and line managers eg. Employee benefits, pay/payroll, contacts, EBA entitlements
- Assist the Talent team with recruitment and selection tasks for the project including creating job requisitions in our HRIS system, attending interviews, liaising with line managers about selections and start dates
- Support new employees as directed during their on-boarding, which may include coordinating IT equipment, inductions, training etc.
- Prepare human resource related documents, presentations, and statistics/data for employees and managers
- Use appropriate systems and software to store and maintain employee's personal records.
- Assist coordinating and communicating cultural awareness and diversity initiatives
**To be considered for this position you must possess the following**:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years experience in a HR role
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
- Intermediate MS Office skills essential
- Previous Success Factors experience highly desirable
