About The Position
As a member of the Safety team, and the broader People and Safety Team, the Safety Business Partner will partner with their portfolios and be at the forefront of promoting a positive safety culture and environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide quality advice and support, promoting a culture where leaders are conscious of and committed to safety systems, compliance, and responsibilities.
2. Assist in the continuous improvement of the Safety Management System.
3. Implement preventive measures and safety controls.
4. Foster organisation-wide collaboration involving consultation, change management, continuous improvement, and learning.
5. Manage incident reports and investigations effectively.
6. Support legislative role vacancies and training (HSRs, Wardens, etc.).
7. Guide and support the operations of the OHS Committees.
8. Communicate clearly and participate actively in team meetings, supporting various approaches to achieve team goals.
Skills and Experience
* Extensive experience in a similar role with high technical capability and expert knowledge of OH&S legislation, regulations, standards, and codes of practice.
* Proven track record in a Safety function within a multi-service environment, including both office and field-based operations.
* Ability to make swift, evidence-based decisions with agility.
* Strong team player demonstrating emotional intelligence, resilience, and tenacity.
* Experience in supportive and collaborative problem solving.
* Understanding of safety around plant operation is highly advantageous.
* Experience in the local government sector is desirable.
Minimum Requirements
* A current Victorian Driver's Licence or equivalent.
* Satisfactory National Police Check.
* Legal entitlement to work in Australia.
